About Miss Swirly PepperMiss Swirly Pepper is a fun-loving, accordion-playing girl who is a detective at heart. You will always see her wearing her detective hat and carrying her magnifying glass and basket. If something strange has happened or there is a mystery brewing at home, Swirly is on the case. She has the amazing ability to "swirl" back in time and this helps her get clues and solve the mystery. Time travel can be tricky and often Miss Swirly Pepper ends up in another time period! Come and join Miss Swirly Pepper on her adventures while children learn about a variety of topics from patterns and colors to spatial awareness and history.

Miss Swirly Pepper was born from the imagination of 7 year old author Angela M. Conti. Miss Swirly Pepper is modeled after Angela herself! Although Angela would like to be able to "swirl" back in time, this, she cannot do. However, Angela does enjoy a good mystery and trying to figure out the mysteries in her daily life. In fact, many of the cases in the Miss Swirly Pepper books are actual events that occurred in the Conti household. Like Miss Swirly Pepper, Angela plays the accordion. Angela is also a member of the Chicago Accordion Club and the American Accordionists' Association. While she is not playing the accordion, drawing, or writing, Angela enjoys acting, playing with her siblings, swimming, playing tennis, and collecting pigs!

Meet the Peppers |
The members of Miss Swirly Pepper's family are modeled after Angela's family itself: Dr. Checker Pepper (dad), Zigzag Pepper (mom), Stripey Pepper (older brother), Solid Orange and Green Pepper (younger brothers), and Polka-Dotted Pepper (little sister). Each member of her family has his or her unique pattern, making the Pepper family a unique bunch! Although she wish she did, Angela does not have a pet pig like Miss Swirly Pepper but a large stuffy named Barbara.
